Basket Filter T-Strainer

Cast Iron T-Strainers are equipment designed for mechanically removing unwanted solids from liquid, gas or steam lines by means of a perforated or wire mesh straining element. The T-strainers are used in pipelines to protect pumps, meters, control valves, steam traps, regulators and other process equipment.

T-Strainers are a cost-effective straining solutions for many different applications. the amount of material to be removed from the flow is relatively small, causing long intervals between screen cleanings, the strainer screen is manually cleaned by shutting down the line and removing the strainer cap.

Also T-Strainers are often used in air and natural gas applications.however high pressures are not uncommon.while unlike steam high air pressure does not automatically mean high temperature and so, ordinary carbon steel bodies of sufficient wall thickness will generally suffice.
An official definition of the T-strainer is: "A closed vessel with a cleanable screen element designed to remove and retain foreign particles down to 0.001-inch diameter from various flowing fluids." 
Note the term "foreign particles". Strainers do not remove only dirt mandantory. They take out material that is not wanted in the fluid and this can sometimes be a valuable product that may be collected. Basket strainers are designed for installation in horizontal lines. They are widely used on liquid service applications.
Basket Strainers are generally used where high flow capacity is required. The Basket Strainer is serviced by removing the cover, which yields access to the basket. Which  also good to be used in a duplex style which consists of two parallel basket Strainers and diverting valves, which permit diversion of the flow through one of the Strainer elements while the other element is being serviced-an essential feature where flow cannot be interrupted.
